From her childhood always like to create something by her natural inspiration.

The year of 1993,
She learned the basis of chasing in one year.

The year of 1994,
She moved to England, and then offered her original jewelry for boutique “JANET FITCH” (now Florence B London) in LONDON, while studied design by herself.
At the same time, her original style was much talked and received favorable reviews from Japan, and then she had given order by Japanese well-known boutique while she was in England.
Her days of life in London, that was the time when she was baptized by various UK cultures.

Started up “Kaneko’s own brand “xanadu” deeply creating for her collections.
Autumn of 1997,
She returned to her home country, Japan.

Since then, she is continuing the energetic work based in Japan.
The year of 2002,
She began exhibiting for `rooms'in Tokyo, and also, 2006(A/W) paris exhibition, 2007(A/W)NY fashion trade show,
she enlarges the place of her creative activity to the world.

The year of 2008,
Kaneko sublimate her own brand name to “sumikanek” keeping the passion for creating through her everyday life and opened inner eye. She express into her pieces.

CONCEPT



Every piece is made by hands.
These are from the images of her original view of this beautiful nature world.
“rain “ “ a drop” “fireworks” each season have shining lights, which give her images for “sumikaneko‘ s” creation.
Silver, gold, pearl, diamond, wood she does not like to use chemical glue, only uses natural materials which return to this mother earth.
The technique of chasing have many ways as using wax for making form or to strike and sharp the metal.
Sumikaneko uses freely every sort of chasing skills, and then finally she gives a birth to the jewelry
One thing, her gifted hand technique is the skillful textural art.
Delicate silver and gold strings like soft silk…..
Her works are not just simple but beautiful complexity.
Everything is focused by her handmade.
These spirits given jewelries are full of her originality.

Kaneko began to surf since several years ago.
So now she newly has the eye and sense by the special view of peaceful colors and feelings that is gifted by the mother ocean.
